Atlas Worldwide Syndications and Distributions and National Lampoon, Inc. announced today that its reality courtroom television series, "Eye for an Eye," has cleared several new major markets as the show makes final preparations for its daytime debut. "Eye for an Eye," which stars "Extreme Akim" (Akim Anastopoulo) and Kato Kaelin, will make the move from a weekly to a strip on Sept. 12, 2005. The show recently cleared Atlanta (WGCL-TV), Detroit (WDWB-TV) and Boston (WNDS-TV). These markets, along with the other top 10 clearances in Chicago (WCIU-TV), Philadelphia (WPHL-TV), San Francisco (KBWB-TV), Dallas (KDAF-TV) and Washington, D.C., have created a solid backbone for the show as it moves into a strip. The show is now cleared in eight of the top 10 markets.
"Eye for an Eye" captures the essence of justice and puts punishment front and center. A non-traditional, no-nonsense, no-holds-barred spectacle of trial and punishment, the syndicated reality courtroom show, breaks ground and takes small claims court to places unseen since the Spanish Inquisition. Unlike any other courtroom television program, "Eye for an Eye" features the powerful and enigmatic Judge ÂExtreme AkimÂ sentencing his litigants to ÂpaybacksÂ with signature punishment episodes. Akim, a former State Prosecutor for South Carolina, appears alongside America's favorite houseguest, host Kato Kaelin, and Sugar Ray Phillips (former middleweight boxing champion of the world) as bailiff.
