SupportNet Introduces New Flat-Rate Pricing for U.S. Wi-Fi Hotspot Access

Partnership with iPass now enables business travelers to access high speed wireless broadband, from over 11,000 U.S. hotspots, through monthly and annual subscription plans.

Columbus, OH (PRWEB) June 29, 2005 -- SupportNet, Inc. today announced new monthly and annual flat-rate subscription plans for use of the Companys U.S. Wi-Fi connectivity. Beginning July 1, 2005, SupportNet will offer its customers the ability to provide their mobile workforce unlimited use of the U.S. iPass Wi-Fi roaming network, from over 11,000 Wi-Fi hotspots, including the T-Mobile® HotSpot network. The new pricing plans complement existing per-minute and day-rate plans.

Wi-Fi hotspots are an attractive technology for increasing corporate productivity, but some enterprises have been wary of runaway costs. The new SupportNet flat-rate plans are expected to give customers the necessary cost predictability to help roll out Wi-Fi roaming to their mobile workers. Controlling costs can become an issue, as users may incur expensive "day rates" for short sessions contracted a la carte from different providers. These new plans provide economical flat rate pricing for access to the roaming network, including access to T-Mobile HotSpot locations in the U.S., the largest carrier-owned Wi-Fi network in the country.

Using the roaming network made up of public hotspots from a large number of disparate providers can be far more manageable and less expensive than creating similar coverage by stitching together multiple a la carte flat-rate plans. Users can get a single connection experience with a single username and password regardless of provider to access hotspots located at coffee shops, hotels, airports, and other public venues.
