This is believed to be the first time that e-procurement providers have linked their production systems to provide a robust integrated solution to meet their client’s requirements. Whilst either of the companies would have able to provide an end to end solution it was realised that to meet both Wallem’s and some of their major suppliers long term e-commerce objectives that linking the two platforms together would provide the best solution. The link took less than a week to install and test.

“MTS has proven to be what we look for in our e-commerce partners. They are visionary whilst pragmatic in what can be achieved today, and above all do not find it necessary to make promises, or claims, beyond the capabilities and realities of where we are today”, said Patrick Slesinger, Director of RealMarine Solutions.

From a commercial stand point, Mark Haslett, GM of Procurement for Wallem Ship Management commented “The gateway between RealMarine and MTS helps Wallem and multiple major marine suppliers realise further efficiencies within the supply chain. This is what real e-commerce is all about. Demonstrable value in a true community, where cost is taken out of the equation, not added in! ”.

David J. Tandy, Executive Vice President of Unitor Ship Service said “It is imperative for Unitor to further increase no. of true electronic transactions and we are happy to see that our chosen e-commerce partner MTS has secured integration towards Wallem. It is important to continue to reduce cost for both Unitor and our customers.

Brynjar Gevelt, CEO of Marine Transaction Services said “Our 2. generation E-commerce service is adding value and cutting cost for both the ship owner and the suppliers, and we are very happy that Wallem as a long time E-commerce user has selected us as a partner in e-commerce”.

Total Procurement Solution (TPS), is the marine e-procurement offering from RealMarine Solutions Limited.
