The Chiefs Coalition is proud to announce its 2005 Charitable designee Kansas City Chiefs All Pro tight end Tony Gonzalez. The Chiefs Coalition members recently conducted a fund raiser to generate 40 footballs for Tony's children's football camp. The value of this donation was over $3000. The Chiefs Coalition also provided Tony and his team over 300 Adidas Sports Bags and wrist bands with a retail value of over $6,000.
Chiefs Coalition Board member Melanie Daniels stated," This was a great opportunity for the Coalition to partner with a Chiefs player that is really making a difference in the local community. The work Tony Gonzalez does off the field is what sets him apart from other great players in the NFL. Tony has a huge heart and really tries to make a difference. Like our work last year with the NFL Man of the Year, Will Shields, this was an opportunity we could not pass up".
The Chiefs Coalitions major fund raiser The 2005 Festivus Weekend, scheduled the weekend around September 11th still remains.
