Ocean Magazine, the Orange County Coast's Premier Women's Lifestyle Publication, will Debut December 2005

Providing women with the quality of a national women's lifestyle magazine combined with the convenience of a local publication, Ocean magazine has announced its premier in Orange County December 2005.

Ocean magazine, Orange County's premier women's publication, has announced its debut December 2005. With expert fashion and shopping coverage, health and beauty know-how, travel guides, decorating and party planning tips, and reports of global women’s issues, Ocean will be a go-to guide for Orange County’s young women.

Published by Shoreline Publications, Inc., a company founded by Molly Chizzick of Corona Del Mar and Amy Kearney of Laguna Beach, Ocean magazine aims to reach an unparalleled readership of women 18 to 49- a demographic no other regional publication has tapped into. “It is our goal to provide Orange County women with the quality of journalism they would find in a national women’s publication, with the convenience and exclusivity of a local magazine,” says Chizzick, the magazine’s editor-in-chief. “Going beyond local restaurant guides and the 'who’s who in Orange County' usually found in regional publications, Ocean will offer professional advice along with lively, entertaining articles and informative features that emphasize the places and trends that make up Orange County’s coast.”

Published quarterly, Ocean is also dedicated to offering local businesses a high-quality medium to connect with responsive Orange County women who frequent local businesses along the coast. “Women ages 18 to 40, represent the fastest growing demographic of consumer spending in Orange County, and until now, no other local publication has reached them,” says Kearney, the magazine’s advertising director. “Ocean will benefit Orange County advertisers whose objective is to reach a younger, shopping-savvy demographic of women.”

With an initial circulation of 30,000, over 25,000 magazines will be direct-mailed each quarter to young women living along Orange County’s coast. The magazine will be available on newsstands in 2006.

Ocean magazine’s Web site, http://www.oceanmagonline.com, which launched this week, will also provide readers with featured articles, advertiser links and subscription requests.
