Harrington Interior Design Degree Students Remodel and Restore Homes for HGTV Special

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 29, 2005 -- Ten senior students in interior design at Harrington College of Design were featured in episodes of Designer Finals," the weekly home decorating show now appearing on HGTV, the Home and Garden Television channel. Given two weeks to design, two days to work and $2000, these students proved their worth. Chosen by the programs producers, midst hundreds of candidates from some of the foremost design schools in the nation, each student-designer was filmed throughout their project for the series.

Home Decorating Program on Home and Garden Television Channel Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 29, 2005 -- Ten senior students in interior design at Harrington College of Design were featured in episodes of Designer Finals
Beginning with plans for the renovation, which was done in consultation with a Harrington faculty mentor, the students then purchased the materials, hired contractors and ran the entire remodeling process. The student designers featured on the program were: Jenelle Dillman, Danielle Doyle, Jennifer Harris, Jill Lazzari, Magda Makas, Lucius Moody, Nina Pierce, Safrina Spedoske, Patrick Thompson and Kimberly Williams.

Participating in Designer Finals was an invaluable learning experience for the students," said Patrick Comstock, president of Harrington College of Design. Dealing with real-world circumstances deepened their understanding of the design process, and the positive national exposure will help jump-start their career following graduation."

One of the shows producers, Stephanie Lollino said, its always interesting working with students. (Lazzaris) ideas are very fresh and right in line with the what the homeowners wanted," she said.

The Interior Design Program at Harrington was ranked number one in Illinois by the Almanac of Architecture and Design, Greenway Consulting, in2004. For almost 75 years, they have been delivering industry-current programs, fostering talent and providing direction with their top-ranked programs including drawing, design, drafting, CAD expertise and more.

Harrington College, offers several degrees including a FIDER accredited Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design, Associate of Applied Science in Interior Design, Diploma in Interior Design, Kitchen and Bath Certificate and Associate of Applied Science in Digital Photography.
