Grenada’s Footprint in August
Grenadian artists will leave their footprint August 05 at the Galerie d’art Nader in Coral Gables, Florida
(PRWEB) July 24, 2005 -- Several Grenadian artists working in their post hurricane environment will soon leave their footprint in Florida.
This is a joint initiative of the Galerie d’art Nader of Coral Gables, Florida and the Grenada Arts Council (GAC). The GAC a volunteer body, has been promoting the visual arts of Grenada for more than four decades, and currently serves an estimated 200 working artists living in the Caribbean tri-island state.
This event is set to begin August 05, 2005 at the Galerie d’art Nader, 1911 Ponce de Leon Blvd in Coral Gables, Florida.
This important exhibition will benefit the artists of Grenada, the majority of whom have suffered extreme personal loss due to the effects of two hurricanes - Ivan and Emily - in ten months.
Despite these setbacks, these artworks will serve to provide a defining snapshot of the state of art in Grenada, and to raise awareness of the plight of the country's visual arts community.
