Rick Charles also known as "The Voice of Poker" has joined forces with PokerUpdates.com for World Series of Poker hourly audio updates and a daily Poker Radio Show.
(PRWEB) July 1, 2005 -- 21 year commercial radio broadcaster Rick Charles who left the airwaves for the internet in 2000 and began to broadcast a Poker Talk Show and Live poker tournament coverage has joined the team at http://www.pokerupdates.com for hourly audio updates from the 2005 World Series of Poker at the Rio in Las Vegas, Nv.
The highly sucessful Voice Of Poker Radio show at http://www.voiceofpoker.com has now become PokerUpdates "The Radio Show" and will continue to be webcast beyond the World Series and will soon be coming to a radio station near you.
Eric Rosenberg the CEO of PokerUpdates.com said "We're extremely happy to have Rick on board with us at PokerUpdates, he brings his poker and radio knowledge and broadcast professionalism to the table and is a phenomenal addition to our team."
World Series of Poker Media Director Nolan Dalla wrote:
"I was able to tune in and listen to Rick Charles' radio call-in show on Friday night. The show is about poker. The show was an excellent opportunity to learn and discuss poker issues. Rick is an engaging personality and has a strong on-air professionalism that is able to carry a full one-hour show. He could easily do two hours, in my opinion and still hold the audience. I encourage others to tune into the Rick Charles broadcast and wish hims much success in attracting a wider audience for poker."
Rick has also done some on camera interviews from two of the biggest poker tournaments of 2005 for PokerUpdates, the World Poker Open in Tunica, Ms. and the PartyPoker.com Million IV cruise.
"I also asked Rick to write a WSOP Blog from his unique perspective. One thing you learn about Rick is he's not afraid to say or write what he thinks, his blog is in our chat forums under the heading 'Ricks WSOP Reports' and is a must read", said Rosenberg. Charles was also a review columnist for Live Action Poker magazine and was the managing editor of Music News magazine in the late 80's in San Diego, his home town.
When asked for comment, Charles said "I love poker, and I love radio, so I turned the two loves of my life other than my family into a business in 2000, Eric Rosenberg is a good friend and a pioneer in internet poker video broadcasting with his monthly Poker Updates internet television show, it's kinda like Poker meets Sports Center meets Entertainment Tonight. He's a freakin' genius, but then again, so am I (laughing) so we work well together and have been friends for 4 or 5 years now. I'm grateful for the opportunity"
