Ted Lansing Corporation Changes Name to Lansing Building Products

Celebrating 50 years in business has given cause for Lansing to look at its branding for the next 50 years. Dramatic growth causing Lansing to become the nation's leading distributor of exterior building products has led to the realization that a name change is necessary.

This year represents the 50th anniversary in business for Ted Lansing Corporation. When Ted Lansing started in 1955 with “Dike” Griffith and “Mac” McLane, the company was named Ted Lansing Supply Company. In the late 1980’s Ted Lansing Supply grew from a small wholesale company to a much more dynamic operation. This growth led to a change in the company name - Ted Lansing Corporation, recognizing their venture into window manufacturing at a plant in Richmond, Virginia.

Moving forward, Lansing aggressive growth strategy will require them to be able to define who they are and what they do in a faster, more comprehensive manner. Entering new markets such as Dallas, Denver, Bentonville and Chicago require Lansing to shorten the length of time that it takes for prospective customers to get to know them.

Effective June 1, 2005 Lansing changed the name of Ted Lansing Corporation to Lansing Building Products. This new name embraces the past with the Lansing name, while defining to the industry what Lansing Building Products does.

Chris Lansing tells all customers: "Rest assured that we will continue to operate as the same great company, with the same principles and philosophies with which we were founded more than 50 years ago. We will move forward into the next 50 years with the dedication and focus that has brought us to the milestone which we celebrate this year."
