GigaTrust Announces a Federated Solution for Windows Rights Management Services (RMS)

GigaTrust's federated solution allows RMS users to exchange protected content with people outside their enterprise network without the hassle of setting up multiple trust relationships or providing helpdesk support for external users.

Herndon, VA (PRWEB) July 5, 2005 -- Today, GigaTrust announced a federated solution for authenticating and connecting users who need to exchange rights-protected content. By connecting to the GigaTrust federated network, enterprise RMS customers can exchange RMS protected content with people outside their enterprise network without the hassle of setting up multiple trust relationships or providing helpdesk support for external users.

The first federated server is operational and features a fully redundant architecture with carrier-grade features required for mission critical applications. GigaTrust is in discussions with several major service providers about providing and hosting additional nodes.

Federated customers are provided with instructions on how to connect to the network and are provided with a small Windows-based client for individual machines. The installation process can be accomplished in one day. Enterprises who want to centrally control information sharing may install the GigaTrust Enterprise software. The GigaTrust enterprise software provides business rules and access lists so administrators can enforce policy rules and control access by individual users or domains.

Once part of the federated network, enterprise RMS users can invite others to join their network by simply sending them a protected email. The process is accomplished without the need for manual intervention by IT administrators or network security personnel.
