DALLAS, US, LONDON, UK (PRWEB) July 5, 2005
Alsbridge, the premier global Outsourcing and Insourcing advisory firm, today announced the appointment of industry expert, Chris Price, as Global Head of their new Government and Public Sector Practice. Alsbridge continues to provide clients with world-class excellence and business transformation strategies within North American and European Government and Public Sector organizations.
Chris Price is a renowned expert in Shared Services and Business Process Outsourcing in the Government and Public Sector. In his new role, he will help public sector clients evaluate and implement outsourcing and insourcing services including shared services, joint venture or solutions that focus on blended sourcing models in Finance & Accounting, IT, CRM and HR. Most recently, Chris Price has been leading a team working within the central government in the UK, assisting a number of Departments and the wider public sector to implement shared services and BPO as part of their drive to deliver the targets set by the high-profile Gershon Review. This report has identified that the UK government could save over £20 billion each year through greater efficiency through changes such as the implementation of Shared Services.
ÂThe new practice will provide leadership and expertise to the Public Sector where the huge benefits from Shared Services and BPO are increasingly recognized, comments Chris.
Prior to joining Alsbridge as a Partner, Chris held a number of senior positions within the Shared Services industry. Chris spent eight years with Ernst & Young, where he was the partner responsible for Shared Services consulting across Europe. During this time, he was instrumental in the development of Ernst & Young's BPO practice, where his role was to design and build operations. Chris also worked for Centrica plc for two years as Director of Shared Services, where he built and operated one of the largest shared Finance and Accounting operations in Europe. During his career he has played a key role in Shared Services and BPO deals for Shell, Ericsson, Coca-Cola, Black & Decker and others.
The UK public sector outsourcing market is currently estimated to be under £45 billion and expected to increase to £67 billion, representing a growth of 50% over the next three years [Kable]. In the US, the Federal IT Outsourcing market is forecast to grow 55% from $11.7billion to $17.4 billion by 2009, with additional initiatives targeting Defense programs. Sourcing trends also indicate that by the end of 2008 the increase of use within the BPO arena will serve to develop more shared service solutions as many government, public and private organizations bring operations back in-house. [Ovum] As government organizations follow the path of private corporations, Alsbridge will offer the public sector its expertise in both outsourcing and insourcing, and the insights gained from our experience working with government entities.
