Viewpoint Creative and the SciFi Channel have teamed up to create the promotional campaign for the netÂs newest reality series, ÂMaster Blasters. ÂBlasters pits amateur rocket scientists against each other in a race to build and launch bizarre objects into orbit  anything from a Mini-Cooper to a living room sofa.
"We wanted to set up a 'mis-direct'," says Viewpoint Creative Director, Michael Middeleer. "The idea was to create a mock NASA launch scenario using actual archival footage and swelling orchestral music, then crash-cut into the wild and wooly world of amateur rocketeering."
The campaign is targeted to speak to a range of SciFi Channel target groups, ranging from 18 to 49. It captures both the reality-based drama and humor of the series, as well as, the show's wonderful and weird science.
The spots range from :30 to :10 seconds in length. Concept, writing and editorial were all done in-house by Viewpoint Creative.
"Master Blasters" premieres Wednesday, July 27th at 8 pm on SciFi.
