An Exciting New Book, On the Brink of Risk,' is About to be Released
Nancy Cruz is a Canadian author of Caribbean origin who had a life full of such restrictions, controls, sufferings, renunciations and risks that she had to write the book to make a catharsis and be able to leave it all behind to start a new life. The risks involved more than one attempt on her life, death by cancer and a misdiagnosed heart attack, accidents, and an attempt to drive her crazy.
(PRWEB) July 4, 2005 -- As someone once told her, what foreigners know about that Caribbean country is only its beautiful landscape, the friendliness and hospitality of the people and what the tourist's agencies allow them to know. But the real truth lies at the bottom of all that. And Nancy Cruz discloses it. Along with her personal hazardous life wrapped in the spell of fiction.
"On the Brink of Risk" (ISBN 1-4137-7361-3) will be released in October-November and can be ordered through Publish America, Amazon, Barnes&Noble and Ingram.
The life of the main character, Monika, wasnt a normal one. She was raised with a very tight hand a very short leash by her mother, who wanted perfection at all costs. Her punishments were cruel and wild.
Monika married blindly in love but very soon discovered her husband was not what she expected. He treated just like her mother had and as if she were a maid and a lover, not a wife and a partner.
Her mother in law tried to strangle her while Monika was living in her house, then hit her in the head with a sharp object and a while later she was in a coma for 21 days.
She separated her husband and moved away; a year later met her soul mate but she was forced into a renunciation because her husband was blackmailing her with her son who had stayed living with his father by a court order (for which Monikas mother was to blame) and was suffering a psychological disorder because he was being abused.
When they moved back together Monika's life began to be a living hell, he tried to drive her crazy more than once, to poison her.....
When she realized what his intentions were, her house became a prison...
She almost died when a malignant tumour was not found by several doctors and he went to extremes trying to see her dead.
Some years later Monika almost died again when a heart attack was misdiagnosed, shortly afterwards the same thing was done again.
In the political aspect, she had to make a really early retirement to avoid being fired. But then she was given a "warning letter" for being "dangerous" and for that you can easily go to jail for years!
The political organizations created by the government started to harass her and her life was insufferable. The police in the sector persecuted her. But she could finally flee the country and be free although she had to do everything in the most secrecy to prevent her ex-husband from stopping her. She was still living with him on account of the huge housing problem of the country, even when they had been divorced for more than 30 years!
