Information on the Internet on (Non)Operational ATM machines

Slovene ATM Network Monitoring on-line: public interactive Internet service that shows nearest working ATMs. Service provides state of 1.500 ATMs in real-time for free public use: www.bankomati.net

(PRWEB) July 12, 2005 -- The Slovene integrated network includes roughly 1,500 ATMs (cash machines). We usually find that an ATM is "currently out of order" when we stand in front of it. Now we can use the web address www.bankomati.net to check all ATM machines in Slovenia whether they are operational. The web application was developed by a young innovative company called Citadela.

The website presents information most interesting to ordinary users of ATM machines. Thus we can check whether an ATM is operational or not or find out whether it is out of cash at the moment. In addition to icons indicating working or non-working status, the website also lists other functions enabled by the ATM machine: filling of the GSM account, printing receipts, deposit unit, withdrawal of cash with Visa or MasterCard cards and whether the access to the ATM machine is limited with regard to working hours of the premises where the selected ATM is located.

The presentation of ATM network is divided into twelve geographic areas and capitol city Ljubljana, which is further divided into 18 quarters. ATM machines are listed alphabetically by their address and the reference location (e.g. hospital, student employment agency, Mercator...) and the bank, which owns the ATM, are added.

"The service can be upgraded by geo-location service which would require co-operation with mobile operators. Currently, the user can use a computer or palm device to inquire through a browser about operations of the ATM network and the use of mobile phones would be the next step. Users would send to an intermediary server an SMS containing the keyword, and receive to their mobile devices the information on the nearest operational ATM machine with regard to the current location of the person sending the SMS," explains Rok P. Makovec, CEO of the company Citadela.

The basis for the web based service www.bankomati.net is Citadela's monitoring information system Thor, which provides full traceability of all information and full statistics, while transferring to custodians of ATM machines via the reporting module information on any defects and disturbances in operation of the ATM network.

Citadela d.o.o. is a Slovene software development company, which has in five years of operations created software for production of passports and ID cards and software solutions including the monitoring information system THOR® for controlling operations of the ATM network of Slovene banks, software twins Castor®& Pollux® for controlling ATM and POS terminals financial transactions as well as the software solution for transfer of biometric data in production of state-of-the-art passports. Users in addition to functionality of software also acknowledge its aesthetic design as applications include visually interesting icons, making the software easy to use and user-friendly.
