Oakland, Calif. (PRWEB) July 7, 2005
Digital Element is excited about the summer of 2005. At SIGGRAPH Â05 in Los Angeles (July 31-August 4, 2005), they are introducing three exciting new products and upgrades to their flagship tools. Verdant Plant Mechanic, Verdant for Max, Maya, and SofImage|XSI, and WorldBuilder Knowledge Module #1 will all be introduced at the show, which is the worldÂs largest meeting of computer graphics professionals.
The newest addition to Digital ElementÂs Building Nature™ series is Verdant Plant Mechanic (VPM). VPM makes it easy to build plants, either realistic or fantastic, that can be used in any of Digital ElementÂs Building Nature series of products, which includes WorldBuilder, Verdant, Aurora, Aurora Sky, and Aurora Water. It provides an advanced user interface with four modes of operation:
1. The Render Layout Mode, which opens any Verdant plant, or one of the nine included plant presets, and enables alteration of textures and any part of the geometry.
2. Plant Wizards to design custom trees and bushes in minutes.
3. The Visual Plant Modeler, which creates any plant imaginable by combining plant parts, and adding joints and textures.
4. Python plant scripts that Programmers and script professionals can easily modify.
VPM includes nine sample plants. It is available on the Windows platform and has a suggested retail price of $249
Also new at SIGGRAPH is the 3DS Max, Maya and SoftImage|XSI versions of Verdant, the revolutionary plug-in that allows users to randomize, rotate, scale, and place plants and trees in Photoshop. Verdant is a favorite of Photoshop artists around the world, and the new Verdant Max, Verdant Maya and Verdant XSI versions make this great plug-in available to the users of the leading 3D modeling software. In addition to all the standard animation effects, these new Verdant releases also provide support for realistic wind animation. Verdant Max, Verdant Maya, and Verdant XSI each carry the retail price of $179 for the download version and $199 on CD.
In addition to all this new software, Digital Element is also announcing Knowledge Module #1 for WorldBuilder at SIGGRAPH. Knowledge Module #1 (KM1) is the first of three tutorials for WorldBuilder that Digital Element will produce this year. It includes 9 video lessons, 5 projects, two free plants, a video of the beautiful visualization done for the Oakland, California Municipal Boathouse Renovation, and more.
