BEST Releases Lead Free Rework Roadmap

Included in this document is the roadmap for BESTs lead free repair, PCB prototyping, solder training and printed circuit board repair material businesses. As part of this document are BEST plans on making sure both materials and processes are controlled in the transition period. Also explained is how BEST will deal with the issue of working with both lead-free and leaded electronic assemblies.

Rolling Meadows, IL (PRWEB) July 7, 2005 -- BEST Inc, has finalized its lead free soldering roadmap.

With EMS and OEM PCB assemblers wanting to make sure they were working with the right rework and repair facility, the BEST team has answered this need for formalizing its strategy for implementing lead free PCB processing and assembly. Even a supplier offering highly specialized services such as PCB rework, repair and PCB prototyping needs to formalize their plans for the transition to lead free processing" reports Bob Wettermann of BEST Inc.

Legislation in Europe and environmental issues in Japan are driving the transition to lead-free processing. The expectation is that many global electronic assemblers and by extension their repair departments, who want to participate in international markets, will need to implement lead-free processes.
