XMaLpha Technologies (http://XMaLpha.com) has been awarded an 18 month contract renewal to provide consulting services, training, programming, database design, and implementation expertise to the Minnesota Legislature as part of its ongoing automation efforts. XMaLpha has been working with the Minnesota Office of the Revisor of Statutes for the past three years during its initial pilot project phase and subsequent successful custom design and implementation of a new bill drafting system. Devan Shepherd, CEO and Chief Technical Officer of XMaLpha, stated, ÂThe complex environment characterized by Legislative documents involves the manipulation of very precise structural components. The many inter-related pieces in the law making puzzle are ideally suited to representation and immortalization as XML structures. Minnesota has set a Âgold standard for the use of Legislative XML and we are thrilled to continue our partnership with the professionals at the helm of this exciting new system.Â
Consultants at XMaLpha have helped design and build a completely automated bill drafting solution in Minnesota which is slated for a fall 2005 implementation. XMaLpha provides project management, programming leadership, mentoring, knowledge transfer, staff augmentation, database design, Web development, and product and tool customizations to the Minnesota Legislature. The work embraces design principles that focus on analysis of the existing technologies and infrastructures, creation of new architecture designs, and the application of consistent, affordable, and effective standards-based XML technologies in the Legislative environment.
