WorldHotels, a leader in the global independent hotel sales, marketing and distribution industry, today announced the launch of an additional GDS chain code ÂÂWWÂ Â which will take affect on July 12, 2005. WW will be the chain code for all individual WORLDHOTELSÂ member hotels that do not belong to either Stamford Hotels & Resorts or the Steigenberger Hotel Group. Nearly 400 individual properties will switch from SR to the WW code.
Because WorldHotels continues to represent the Steigenberger Hotel Group and Stamford Hotels & Resort, almost 70 Steigenberger properties will retain the SR chain code, while Stamford properties will keep the YS chain code.
Travel agents and corporate bookers can access WorldHotels' total portfolio of nearly 500 unique properties around the world via the master chain code EW  Exclusive WorldHotels  through all major GDSs. EW covers all three codes  WW, SR and YS.
Michael Ball, Chief Executive Officer of WorldHotels, said this switch is a key component in the repositioning of the brand and the development of the companyÂs profile following the rebranding of the company from SRS-WORLDHOTELS to WORLDHOTELS earlier this year.
ÂThe establishment of the WW chain code is one of the final pieces in the puzzle to complete the WorldHotels brand, said Ball. ÂWe are mounting a comprehensive communications campaign to ensure a smooth transition, solidify our global character, assure global distribution, and provide travel agents easy access to our portfolio of member hotels.
Ball added that to help create awareness of the new code, a raffle offering agents top prizes is now running on the companyÂs dedicated travel agent Web portal,WORLDHOTELS.beconnected at (http://www.worldhotels.com/travelagents).Â
