Industry Experts Predict Drug Costs Will Double In The Next Five Years

Drug costs are spiraling out of control in the United States, but there are alternatives. There are trustworthy and reputable online sources that offer low priced and high quality generic alternatives to brand name drugs. One online supplier of generic medications is determined to combat the low quality-poor service image that is promoted by some unscrupulous online vendors with poor business practices.

(PRWEB) July 12, 2005 -- Industry experts predict drug costs will double in the next five years, with annual increases of 15 to 20 percent. "This will result, in part, from increased use by aging 'baby boomers,' those who are now between 44-55 years old, with, for example, drugs that treat high cholesterol," says Jim Richards, R.Ph., professor emeritus, Pharmacy College of the University of Michigan.

"This is a good news/bad news scenario," Professor Richards says. "The bad news is that drug costs are going up by double digits. The good news is that increased use of drugs, especially maintenance drugs, has helped improve our general health and quality of life."

Michael Taylor, a spokesman for www.generic-rxdrugs.com, an industry leading online pharmacy, said "our company is determined to break the low quality-poor service myth and stereotype that has been promoted by less than reputable companies. There are some "bad apples" that cast a shadow on the online generic drug industry as a whole. We are gathering information to create a directory of these companies with poor business practices and publish it on our website for the protection of the consumer who is spending his hard earned money in good faith." Mr. Taylor offered some tips to identify companies to avoid. "Never buy from a company without an SSL certificate on thier website. Your credit card information may be vulnerable without it. Do not buy from sites that sell controlled substances. They are obviously willing to take large risks to make money and this usually indicates they have a low priority on customer satisfaction and service. Look for companies that say that their products are manufactured to Good Manufacturing Practices standards. All of our products are manufactured to the same Good Manufacturing Practices standards that are applied to generic medications manufactured in the USA. Many websites that inventory hundreds of drugs have no controls on the qulity of the products that they are selling. By taking a few precautions you will have a satisfying experience buying medications online."

www.generic-rxdrugs.com is a subsidary of The RX Pharmacy Group, an online supplier of generic pharmacutical and health care products.
