Maria Gomez, realtor for Keller Williams in Miami, Florida, is taking property advertising to a new fashion realm--body advertising. Gomez decided to take a unique approach to promoting her real estate listings in the booming Florida real estate market, as the only Realtor that wears her property listings when she goes out in public. Gomez creates t-shirts with an image of the listed property, with pricing and detailed information, and her contact information, then wears it all around town. She uses this form of advertising to promote and sell her listed properties. Gomez is like a walking businesscard.
"For years, celebrities have used fashion to promote the movies and themselves, chich restaurants and nightclubs use t-shirts to promote their locations, so why not have use a t-shirt to promote one of the most valuable assets in an individuals life--their home," says Maria Gomez.
With over 15 years of marketing experience, including public relations and marketing for Bloomingdale's and Fortune 500 companies, Gomez is using her marketing/advertising experience to creatively market real estate. Gomez admits that in this market you have to do more than just place a For Sale sign on a house and she is prepared for the possibility that the Hot Property T-Shirts may become a hot new fashion trend.
"Advertising listings is getting expensive, says Gomez. "I decided there had to be a better way to promote listings while giving my clients the most exposure for thier properties. Based on how many people I see daily, I realized that using myself as a billboard was one of the best ways to advertise properties and the most cost effective."
Gomez estimates based on her daily contact with individuals, through meetings, going to the grocery store, the movies, washing the car, running, even walking down the street, that over 500 people (on a slow day). to over 1,500, saw her wearing her Hot Property t-shirt. This new form of real estate advertising is also cost effective. Gomez creates property t-shirts at home in less than hour. She creates the image, the design, and then irons the transer in a few minutes.
"The Property T-shirt is the best way to promote a real estate," say Gomez. "I support the t-shirt marketing with Reachon email marketing, giving my clients the best marketing package possible AND at no cost to the seller. It isn't enough to just to put a For Sale sign outside a property any more. Realtors have to go the extra mile for clients, and I am willing to give the shirt off my back to sell properties fast and at top dollar."
Gomez highlights properties with a property image, detailed property description, price of the property, her contact information and website, on a 100% white cotton t-shirt. She also gets creative and uses different colored t-shirts depending on the property - land, luxury, residential, condo. When you see her wearing a gold colored shirt she is promoting a luxury listing, of over $1 million or more.
She wears the property t-shirts everywhere and they get noticed. Gomez just received an offer on a Gainesville property that she listed, $1.2 million, when a local South Florida developer saw her wearing the property t-shirt running in the Coral Gables, and requested more information.
Gomez has applied for the Property T-Shirt patent, understanding that this new way of advertising could change the way we promote homes for sale.
