Arizona's first light rail system will operate 5.5 miles of its 20 miles in the city. Proximity to the nation's sixth largest airline and major companies like Chase Manhattan Bank and Wells Fargo Loan Services did not hurt. Tempe consistently enjoys the highest hotel occupancy in the state of Arizona.
