Goldstein Lewin's audit department expands in response to requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Goldstein Lewin & Co., Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, is pleased to announce that Jeremy Ahwee, CPA has been promoted to Audit Manager. Mr. Ahwee has provided audit and review services for public, private, and not-for-profit companies in a variety of industries. He has assisted clients with accounting issues and internal control implementation and reviews.

“Smaller public companies must certify their internal controls in 2006” says Donald J. Goldstein, CPA, Goldstein Lewin Co-Managing Partner “and few auditors are as experienced as Jeremy in performing these reviews. He is also skilled at explaining their complexities to more junior members of the department.”

A Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Florida, Mr. Ahwee earned a Bachelor of Accounting and a Master of Accounting with a concentration in internal auditing, degree at Florida International University. Prior to joining Goldstein Lewin, he worked for a local accounting firm first as a supervisor then as a manager in the audit department and as an Assurance Senior at an international accounting and consulting firm.

According to Mr. Ahwee, “Since the enactment of Sarbanes-Oxley, public companies have been subject to more stringent audit requirements. The possibility now exists that not-for-profits and/or private companies may eventually have to comply, and my experience in all of these arenas will be a definite asset to our clients. I am also committed to developing our staff to address the changing and complex audit and public accounting environments.”
