Grogans Celebrating 20 Years of Fantasy Football

Dan and Kelly Grogan got into the fantasy football business back in 1986 and it all started because of a draft day blunder. Today, their magazine, "Grogan's Fantasy Football Analyst" is the longest running one in the industry.

(PRWEB) July 14, 2005 -- Dan and Kelly Grogan have been living in a fantasy world for the past 20 years -- and theyre proud to admit it. Grogans Fantasy Football is celebrating its 20th anniversary and it all started because of a guy with a broken neck.

In their initial fantasy football draft back in 1985, the Grogan brothers made the blunder of drafting a receiver from Seattle who, unbeknownst to them, had injured his neck the previous season and subsequently retired. After suffering the ridicule heaped on them by their fellow drafters, the Grogans vowed never to make the same fantasy faux pas again. They began compiling statistics and tracking information in preparation for the following season, but it was an offer from an acquaintance to buy" that information that set things in motion.

What followed in 1986 was Grogans Fantasy Football Analyst -- the very first draft guide magazine devoted to this interest. Although the market of fantasy players was limited then, there has been tremendous growth in fantasy sports over the last several years (15 million participants according to a 2004 Fantasy Sports Trade Association survey). The Analyst has become a mainstay guide for many fantasy fanatics across the country helping them with, among other things, avoiding players with broken necks!

Fantasy fans can also find a host of tools like customized draft lists, pre-season reports, and the in-season Scouting Report at www.grogansports.com. This season, Grogans has introduced My Guys" which enables fantasy owners to receive customized fantasy info, statistics and insight specific to the players on their team.
