WirelessFundraiser.com Tops $250,000 in Cash Payments to Non-profits that Gather and Send in Used Cell Phones

In the past year-and-a-half, WirelessFundraiser.com has aided more than 2,000 organizations in raising money while helping the environment

Ocala, Fla. (PRWEB) July 14, 2005 -- WirelessFundraiser.com, a web site that helps non-profit organizations raise money by paying cash for the used cell phones they collect and send in, announced today it has paid more than $250,000 to more than 2,000 non-profits in the past 18 months.

WirelessFundraiser.com, one of several web sites operated by RMS Communications Group Inc., a national leader in the re-marketing and re-cycling of used cell phones, continues to sign up new non-profit partners every week, according to James Mosieur, RMS' chief executive officer.

"We're delighted to pass this important milestone in such a short amount of time," Mosieur said. "We expect our performance over the next 18 months to be even better, as more non-profits discover us and learn about the win-win benefits that come from partnering with us."

Mosieur said www.WirelessFundraiser.com works like this: Non-profit organizations collect used cell phones from their members or from people in their own communities, and send them to WirelessFundraiser.com in containers that WirelessFundraiser.com provides. WirelessFundraiser.com pays anywhere from a few dollars to more than $100 for each cell phone that has market value, and carefully recycles the remainder in an environmentally responsible fashion.

"It's a great way for non-profits to make significant dollars, and it provides us with a stream of used cell phones that we can re-cycle and re-market around the world," Mosieur said. "It's a true win-win proposition."

RMS Communications Group Inc., a Florida-based company, has been in the used cell phone recycling business since the mid-1990s. Besides www.WirelessFundraiser.com, the company buys old cell phones through such websites as www.CellForCash.com, for consumers, and www.RecycleForUS.com, an industry-funded national cell phone recycling initiative.
