Special Ops Security, in conjunction with NGS Software Ltd., will present a comprehensive two-day training class at the annual Black Hat Briefings held at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 25 and 26, 2005. Registration is now open and seats are filling up rapidly. The joint instruction provided by the two security firms makes this training class one of the best in student-to-teacher ratio, with five primary instructors and three assistants. Gunter Ollman, Director of Professional Services, and Chris Paget, Security Consultant and Researcher, make up the NGS Software instructors with all three founders-Erik Pace Birkholz, Steven Andres, and Chip Andrews-on the roster for Special Ops Security.

"We're really excited to team with our UK partner NGS Software to present this training," said president and founder of Special Ops Security, Erik Pace Birkholz. "If there's a major company out there that doesn't have a web application, it's only a matter of time before they do have one sitting there, naked on the Internet. We're out to teach folks how to put some clothes on!"

Internal security teams and web developers concerned with the security of home-grown web applications and the exposure they have to back end information systems are strongly encouraged to enroll. Students will learn how to:

=> Apply best-practices in web application design

=> Understand the reasons behind web exploitation

=> Successfully prevent most automated attack vectors

=> Understand the security significance of various design compromises

=> Accurately assess the overall security of a web-based application

Each student will receive a printed lab manual, a copy of SPECIAL OPS: Host and Network Security for Microsoft, UNIX and Oracle, and a limited edition Special Ops Security t-shirt (in black, of course). Students are eligible to receive 16 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits towards their CISSP upon completion of class. Register for the training at http://www.blackhat.com.
