London (PRWEB) July 15, 2005
PhotoBox, winner of numerous industry retailing and digital imaging awards, has today added mobile postcards to its product portfolio. Camera phone users can now take a picture while away on holiday and have it delivered as a postcard to friends and family at home the very next day, using only a mobile camera phone.
The process is as easy as using the multi media messaging (MMS) function on your mobile. Just take a picture, add your message and send a MMS to: postcard at photobox.co.uk. You will receive a SMS text message prompting you to reply to it with the postal address. Once you have responded the postcard will be printed and mailed first class.
PhotoBox chose to work with InAMobile, a leading mobile imaging and applications company, for their postcard product. "We are pleased that PhotoBox are offering this service to its customer base. Camera phones are the new digital camera and Mobile Postcards are a natural addition to the mobile product range" said Arun, Business Development Director at InAMobile.
Graham Hobson, CEO PhotoBox said, "the InAMobile service offers camera phone owners a fantastic way to share their travels with friends and family back at home and is a natural addition to the PhotoBox portfolio. As the resolution on cameras built in to mobiles increases more and more people will use this kind of service to share pictures, places and events with people unable to be there."
The postcards, which will cost £1.50 including VAT, can be sent from any MMS enabled location, dependent on the network operator. Cards sent before 3pm UK time will be printed and posted via first class mail on the same day.
PhotoBox is the UKÂs first online digital photographic company and the market leader in its field according to independent research by Understanding and Solutions 2004. Using award-winning, state-of-the-art facilities, and partnering with FujiFilm UK, has ensured that PhotoBox has become the destination site for both professional and amateur digital photographers.
PhotoBox, which is privately owned and funded, was the brainchild of CEO Graham Hobson and Managing Director Mark Chapman. The company is chaired by Colin Glass, who brings a wealth of retail experience to the business.
PhotoBox services are available across different platforms, on your PC, using your mobile phone to upload images, through media centre PCÂs running MicrososftÂs Windows Media Centre 2005 and now on ntlÂs Interactive Digital TV service.
PhotoBox customers can order photographic prints in wide range of sizes up to 30"x20" posters. A wide range of gifts including greeting cards, mugs and calendars featuring the customers own digital images are also available. Standard sized prints ordered before 4pm Monday-Friday are sent same day by first class post. Each customer is given unlimited space for photo printing and free space for photo sharing. PhotoBox also offers a number of mobile features for customers on the go including a free send-to-mobile photo service.
