Redding, CA (PRWEB) July 16, 2005 -- Jorge Arguello, the Nicaraguan-American songwriter, poet and now author, is writing an e-book guide on and about the experience of being a single dad, and how art gives you perspective and a positive attitude-effect" on raising your children, which is due out later this year.

Jorge is part of the mastermind group called The Future Hemingways", put together and lead by Alan R. Bechtold of BBS Press Service, Inc. in Bonita Springs, Florida.

I figure I have reasons to celebrate. Ernest Hemingways birthday is on the 21st of this month and Im writing my e-book because I am a member of Alan R. Bechtolds mastermind group so it holds special meaning, and also becoming a published author again." Arguello said.

Arguello has insider information" and a firm grasp on the topic since he is still raising his two teen aged children as a single dad and feels that the time is right to help other single dads who feel lost about their new position in life. I was in the forefront of the single dad movement as I like to call it. I received custody of my children 17 years ago and back then, there werent that many males actually winning that custody decision and no role models to emulate." says Arguello.

Arguello continues, The fact is that ever since cave man days we have wanted to stay at home and raise our children and be a part of that. Its like, 'why dont you go out and hunt the cave bear you know? But she wouldnt listen and ever since then we were the bread winners." he says with a chuckle.

Ok, that may be a slight stretch but not too far off really. The fact remains that for many years, women mostly got charge of the kids even if they werent very nurturing, and the dads were relegated to visiting parent" or cave bear hunter.

Today its a very different landscape because more and more women are interested in their careers and their own objectives and children get in the way of that, whereas men are becoming even more responsible of taking care of their child." Arguello says, My book will address the new patterns, the misconceptions and the prejudices that only now are starting to wane, but not by much. Ill explain more details in my new book."

With divorce on the rise and women really getting into stride with their independence, the single dad issue is larger and the population of dads taking full charge of their children is on the upswing. So when asked what information is in the book, Arguello responds by saying, I want to help guide young fathers today who havent a clue about how to change diapers even if they are disposable, or warm bottles, or what a baby is trying to tell you when she is crying because it is all different and you can tell by the tone of that cry. Thats where I tie in the art part, the musical aspect of my life that actually helped me in that regard. Im not going to teach someone how to be a musician but I will tie it together."

Arguello finishes by saying, My kids are pretty much grown now but the wealth of knowledge I intend on imparting will definitely point the new single dads in the right direction, and giving them the sense that they are not alone in this and they have someone to either emulate or at the very least someone to turn to." For a single dad, thats a book worth reading.
