Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) July 19, 2005 -- The Sandman Hotels, Inns & Suites is pleased to announce the appointment of Salim Kassam as the hotel chains Vice President of Marketing. Kassam was promoted from Director of Marketing to his present position.
At 30 years old, Kassam becomes the youngest VP in Sandmans history. His exceptional academic and athletic achievements, as well as his experience working in the hospitality industry in the UK and Canada, make him a noteworthy and dynamic up-and-comer in the hospitality marketing industry. Kassam has worked in hotels since the age of 14 years old.
Kassam will oversee all marketing aspects of the companys 31 and growing properties across Canada.
Kassam has a Bachelor of Science from UBC and a diploma of technology from BCIT. He is a former president of the American Marketing Association and has won several awards including the Georgie Award for marketing.
In addition to working at Sandman, Kassam was Director of Marketing at MacDonald Hotels and Forte Hotels in London, England.
Kassam is also an accomplished Jujitsu practitioner.
Founded in 1967, Sandman Hotels, Inns & Suites today operates as part of a network of sister hotel and restaurant companies under the Northland Properties Corporation.
