Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 20, 2005
The second iteration of the successful Python Bootcamp has been scheduled for October 17 - 21, 2005 at the Big Nerd Ranch. Mark Lutz, author of the O'Reilly books "Programming Python" and "Python Pocket Reference," returns as the instructor, guiding students through the ins and outs of one of the most flexible programming languages in web and application development. This versatile language, whose utility spans such disparate industries as the sciences, animation and financial markets, is rapidly becoming one of the most sought after languages by corporations and government agencies alike. Garnering attention in its partnership with giants such as Google, NASA, and Pixar, programmers adept in Python development are becoming increasingly valuable commodities in the programming industry.
Mr. Lutz, with his far-reaching experience in teaching, writing about and software development in Python, is the ideal guide to help students achieve mastery. He has been teaching courses in Python since 1997. His extensive background as developer and thinker has infused the syllabus with the necessary focus to ensure students emerge with the fundamental skills to begin programming in Python.
Core topics include types and operators, functions, modules, classes and exceptions. The course will provide an overview of debugging, profiling, dynamic coding tools, system interfacing, accessing databases, creating graphical interfaces and applying Python as a scripting language.
Aaron Hillegass, Big Nerd Ranch founder, said, "Our last class with Mark indicated not only a growing demand for Python instruction, but also that Mark fits in with our teaching philosophy. His course was clearly well-researched and indicated his depth of knowledge about the topic. That, paired with his excitement and commitment to teaching, really creates a great learning experience for our students."
