TAMPA (PRWEB) July 21, 2005 -- Faircloth Information Technology Systems, Inc. (FIT Systems) is awarded 8(a) status by the Small Business Association (SBA). The 8(a) program was devised to help small disadvantaged businesses compete in the U.S. economy and provides special access to billions of dollars of federal procurement opportunities.

Since its inception in 1999, FIT Systems has been offering professional information technology services to the federal government and has been a strategic partner to top tier prime defense and federal government contractors. "Our 8(a) status will open new channels for our business development group and allow us to compete as a prime contractor for the many upcoming procurement initiatives within the Department of Defense, federal and state government agencies," said Alton Faircloth, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer. Federal IT outsourcing is expected to be one of the fastest growing federal IT market segments over the next five years according to a report released by INPUT, the quantifiable leader in government market intelligence. Faircloth continued, "FIT Systems is primed for exponential growth over the next five years and we will be adding staff through capacity planning and merger and acquisition integration." According to the SBA, small businesses provide approximately 75% of the net new jobs to the economy and account for 39.1% of jobs in high technology sectors.
