Aumega Networks Announces Launch of Indus - A Software Agent Platform for Ubiquitous Computing
LONDON (PRWEB) July 24, 2005 -- Aumega Networks, a London and Bangalore based company, today announced the launch of Indus. Indus is a platform to implement, deploy and execute software agents on a variety of devices ranging from 8 bit micro controllers to 64 bit servers.
Indus is hailed as an ideal platform for ubiquitous computing and its growing array of applications in real life. The company's customers are using Indus in a range of applications from sensor based building automation to vehicular networks and intelligent supply chain management using RFID.
A company spokesperson pointed out that Indus will be available in three versions. A standard version for PC and Server platforms is already available whereas Indus Micro, the version for 16/32 bit mobile devices will be released in September 2005 and Indus Mote, the version for 8 bit micro controllers will be available by October 2005.
Indus, which is a common language front end that generates a variety of code including embeddable code and binaries is a novelty that can usher in a new ubiquitous computing programming model and that will hasten the adoption of ubiquitous applications in real life.
