Protedyne Adds Vision Verification to BioCube System
Windsor, CT (PRWEB) July 26, 2005 -- Protedyne Corporation, a leading lab automation provider, today announced the availability of a Vision Verification System on the BioCube System, the companys sophisticated automation platform. The Vision Verification System can be used for a variety of applications such as detecting clogs in filter plates or documenting pipetting procedures.
The Vision Verification System has two important components, a labware camera and a tip camera.
For most diagnostic applications, the tip camera can be employed to document the pipetting of primary patient samples and/or critical reagents. The camera can detect if clots, bubbles or low volume of sample interfered with proper aspirating or dispensing of liquids. For nucleic acid purification applications, the labware camera can detect a clogged well in a filter plate after the lysate clearing step. Clogged wells are automatically detected, documented and can be corrected before proceeding. Using LILY, the BioCube Systems data management software, the vision analysis results are stored in real-time, along with images associated with the samples.
The Protedyne Vision Verification System will bring real-time quality control to diagnostic laboratories that are urgently in need of advanced process control in their testing.
