Alt-N Technologies announces open sourcing of its DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) API Library

Arlington, Texas (PRWEB) July 24, 2005 -- Alt-N Technologies (http://www.altn.com/), a global leader in secure email, collaboration, and fax servers for the Windows platform, today announced the open sourcing of the DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) stand-alone API library written in C++, which can be used to incorporate DKIM capability into an existing MTA or other application.

Available on SourceForge at http://sourceforge.net/projects/libdkim/, the API library includes full support for signing and verifying using DKIM.

DKIM is a signature-based email authentication proposal which is based on Yahoo!'s DomainKeys email authentication technology and Cisco's Identified Internet Mail. It provides email users with an additional level of protection against email forgery, a tactic often used in phishing attacks. DKIM was developed so that businesses and consumers will have a stronger, more accurate means for identifying legitimate email messages. MDaemon 8.10, a DKIM capable version of Alt-N's popular email server, is a secure, turn-key mail server solution. It can also serve as a secure front-door" to an existing email system such as Microsoft Exchange, thereby bringing SPF, DomainKeys, and DKIM capability where it didn't exist before.
