New authors such as the writing team of C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp, along with Elizabeth Vaughan, are adding to the solid line of established romance authors that are setting hearts and sales ablaze. Reviewers have been consistantly giving the books top marks, and book awards are quickly following.

Tor's new paranormal romance line is moving closer and closer to the best seller lists with its unique combination of romance with fantasy, science fiction and paranormal themes.

The books have regularly debuted in the middle of the BookScan Top 100 Romance list, and several have remained on the list for more than a month.

The August offering, Moon's Web, (ISBN 0-765-34914-0) by writing team C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp, promises to be another such exceptional book. Set in today's Chicago, it has a gritty noir feel that more than one reviewer has compared to classic detective fiction and the HBO series The Sopranos.

The novel has already garnered impressive advance reviews, including a 4-1/2 Star, Gold Award, Top Pick from RT BOOKclub magazine (their top rating), A Perfect 10 from Romance Reviews Today and 5 Stars, Recommended Read from well known independent reviewer Harriet Klausner.

"It's only taken two books for the dynamic duo of Adams and Clamp to cement their position as premier authors of paranormal fiction," states the RT BOOKclub review, and Romance Reviews Today had this to say: "It's rare when a second book surpasses the first, but Moon's Web explodes onto the scene, earning a Perfect 10."

This is saying quite a bit, since the authors' previous book, Hunter's Moon, (ISBN 0-765-34913-2) has racked up some impressive credentials. After seven weeks on BookScan's list, more than thirty top-notch reviews, placing in awards ranging from the Reviewer's International Organization (RIO) Award of Excellence, RT BOOKclub's own Reviewer's Choice Award, as well as a long string of first-, second- and third-place wins in more than a dozen novel competitions, while finishing high in still more, the new book has some large shoes to fill.

But Tor's fantasy and science fiction romances are also gaining popularity. New author Elizabeth Vaughan's debut novel, Warprize (ISBN 0-765-35264-8), has stunned the reviewers, who are comparing it to some of the great fantasy novels of this generation. Even the traditionally hard-nosed reviewers are giving it A+ ratings, which has helped bring in new cross-genre readers to the line. ParaNormal Romance Reviews spoke for many of the reviewers: “Warprize is simply mesmerizing. The story is told flawlessly in first person with characters that capture your heart.”

Ultimately, Tor is showing their same dedication to excellence in this new romance line as they have for the past twenty years in science fiction and fantasy. The future is looking bright for the line as well as the authors therein.
