Unity Card Supports Hbcus Through New Fundraising Program

Unity Card is starting its new Fundraiser Program to help meet the challenges facing historically black colleges and universities.

(PRWEB) July 25, 2005 -- Unity Card, a black-owned and operated marketing company, is starting its new Fundraiser Program to help meet the challenges facing historically black colleges and universities, including, but not limited to, student recruitment, facilities and a lack of state funding.

Unity Card was a sponsor at the Central State University Off-Campus Conference recently held in Philadelphia. At the conference President and CEO Anthony Quiñones learned a lot about the challenges HBCUs are facing and the company's new Fundraiser Program is designed to help to meet those challenges.

"We are committed to empowering our community economically, socially and culturally. HBCUs are a big part of that and we want to help them continue the work in building a great foundation for the next generation," says Quiñones.

Part of UNITY's vision is to have their program at various HBCUs nationwide starting this fall. The plan is to use the Fundraiser program to help HBCUs raise funds to meet the growing needs at these schools. In addition, Unity Card will donate 30% of the proceeds to the HBCU. Furthermore, students can take advantage of huge savings at local black-owned businesses on campus by purchasing a UNITY Discount Card for only $10 a year. Local businesses that accept the UNITY Discount Card get quality marketing and advertising services for free on www.unitycards.com. As a result, entrepreneurs will spend less time and money on marketing and more time making money. All that is required is that the business offers an exclusive discount to UNITY cardholders. This will encourage HBCU students to buy from black-owned businesses and help them save hundreds of dollars each semester and further enhance their college experience. This will also help local black-owned businesses to get a bigger share of the revenues from their
local communities.
