New Line of Fine Art Wallpaper Getting Good Coverage
Artist Kelly Porter and designer Bridgett Cochran catch the eye of premier publications with their Porter Teleo line of hand printed wall coverings.
Kansas City, Mo (PRWEB) July 26, 2005 -- What essentially began as chit-chat in a downtown coffee shop is now the talk of the trade in interior design publications.
Within a year of operation, the girls of Porter Teleo have been featured in respected publications, including: D-Home, Interior Design, and Womens Wear Daily.
The small company, with its two young female founders, makes for a story that writes itself...
"Every one of our patterns is designed as an individual work of art," explains Kelly Porter, artist and entrepreneur. "Only the finest French and Japanese papers are used, and each panel is embossed with a chop mark - as are historical maps and charts. Each panel is printed as a fine art etching, combining the use of wood blocks and etched plates with the age old techniques of chine colle and hand painting."
Each flat panel is printed in the Lawrence Lithography Workshop, where editions from Ed Paschke, Luis Jimenez, and Robert Stackhouse have been printed. Porter Teleo is redefining wallpaper -- and fine art.
"We knew there was a market for something like this," said Bridgett Cochran -- the design portion of this unique entrepreneurial equation. "Art and design cross into each other so easily, why shouldnt wall coverings be printed as fine art?"
Porter Teleo combines art and design, bringing a distinctive element to the discerning owner. For more information, and to request press packs or samples, visit www.porterteleo.com and call Bridgett Cochran at 816.206.4001.
