The World Trade Center Atlanta (WTCA) and Vision TRE, Inc., an IT strategic consulting and outsourcing company, will host a breakfast seminar entitled “Introducing Brazil as a Near-Shore IT Outsourcing Destination” on August 9th 2005 at the WTC-Atlanta Conference Center, Beijing Room, Atlanta, Georgia. Attendees will be able to engage in a Q&A session as part of a live web cast featuring a near shore “software factory” IT case study by an experienced IT solutions provider based in Brazil. Participants interested in near-shore IT sourcing destinations as an alternative to traditional destinations like India, China, and Eastern Europe should contact Ana Claudia Dudley at 404-713-1765 for more information and to pre-register.

According to a September 2004 Forester Research report companies engaged in offshore outsourcing must teach their business analysts and internal customers how to work within the confines of an offshore outsourcing relationship. The process change required is, in most cases, revolutionary, not evolutionary, for both IT and the business. Seminar attendees will hear experts discuss how Brazil offers organizations the opportunity to take advantage of offshore skilled professionals without having to make major changes to internal processes.

Speakers providing an overview of Brazil’s economic outlook, IT industry capabilities, and legal advantages include:

  •     Juan Carlos Cano, Assistant VP, PM, Private Advisory Services, Bank of America
  •     W. Henry Johns, President, Vision TRE, Inc.
  •     Robert West, International Practice Leader, Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC
  •     Carlos Jayme, Director, Cinq Technologies, by live Web cast from Curitiba, Brazil.

“Most decision makers in the U.S. do not realize that Brazil has one of the largest IT industries in the world, with many compelling reasons for offshoring projects there,” said Henry Johns, president of Vision TRE, Inc.
