Providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Treatment to Children with Autism
Families of children with autism or other neuropsychological disorders are having problems finding ABA services for their children. A solution is given.
(PRWEB) July 31, 2005 -- Without question ABA is an effective treatment for children with autism or other neuropsychological disorders, especially when started at an early age.
However, the issue facing many school systems across the country is how to pay for these services for an increasing number of children with a diagnosis of autism. A few states have mandated that insurance companies cover the cost of ABA, which can run as much as $60, 000 a year. In some school systems around the country parents have gone to court to force the school system to pay for ABA and the school systems have agreed to do so following a directive by the court. Poorer school systems have appealed the lower court's decision and are waiting on a decision by the higher courts.
One psychologist, whose practice is in rural Tennessee, has a solution. For several years, his website at http://www.aba4autism has been offering an on line ABA course for caregivers, ABA programs and ABA eBooks, and case history illustrations. My thirty-five years of clinical experience, the scientific literature, and testimonials from parents and teachers who have downloaded ABA programs from my website have convinced me that caregivers can provide effective ABA therapy" Dr. Brown states on the first page of his web site.
The ABA programs at http://www.aba4autism are definitely a low costs alternative for parents, teachers, and other caregivers who are having trouble providing ABA services.
