G - A New Premium Saké by SakéOne Blends Sophisticated Flavors with a Sexy New Look to Appeal to the Rapidly Growing American Saké Market
G answers the call for an ultra-premium, super-sexy saké tailored to and bottled for the American palate.
Forest Grove, OR (PRWEB) July 31, 2005 -- This September, premium saké and wine consumers will have a new palate pleaser with the release of SakéOnes G, the first Genshu saké to be handcrafted using select lots and blending for the American palate. Brewed by SakéOne (under its Momokawa label) with the mission to create Americas first super-premium saké, G is the culmination of masterful blending, extended aging and precise selection of the finest lots.
As Americans continue to build a thirst for premium saké, G answers the call for an ultra-premium, super-sexy saké tailored to and bottled for the American palate. Layers of rich flavors (fruits, sweetness, spices) come together to create a distinct saké. The ultra-cool custom black matte-finished bottle, with its short profile and broad shoulders adds to Gs sex appeal and intrigue.
G is for Genshu. In saké-speak, this means premium-grade and cask-strength, typically 18 to 21% alcohol by volume. G is 18%, but has so much character and body, the alcohol levels are thereby mellowed and balanced, leaving a smooth, clean beverage that is highly pleasurable to drink. The new G brand from Momokawa is a sophisticated Genshu carefully crafted with deep flavors, complexity and inspiration from fine wine flavors.
G is it - a saké that we expect will win over skeptics," notes Steve Boone, President of SakéOne. Its layers of flavor are familiar to American wine drinkers favorites yet it retains the rich heritage of saké. Think of the crispness of a Pinot Gris, the fruit of a Riesling and then finish-off with a dry, spicy Gewurztraminer. Thats what G is like - lots of familiar grape-wine characteristics all rolled into a rice-wine saké. G is an exciting beverage. It is a pleasant and rewarding surprise for your palate."
SakéOne also employs the only American sakémaster, Greg Lorenz, whose vast homework and creative efforts brought this beverage to fruition. Saké brewing has a rich history which blends art with science," Lorenz adds. G is the culmination of the science of brewing, the art of blending. Then we mixed in a bit of the passion for a great saké that began our journey to the great American Genshu. Its an effort of love, or at least one of thirst. Im very happy with the finished product."
Currently, saké is moving from Japanese restaurants exclusively to a wide range of other fusion cuisines, as well as the wine lists and prix fixe menus of some of Americas finest non-Asian restaurants, such as French Laundry in Napa Valley and Charlie Trotters in Chicago. Recently compiled statistics show that the U.S. saké retail market has grown from $130 million to $240 million since 1998 and currently outpaces the domestic wine sales growth 3-to-1. With the growing popularity of Asian cuisine and an emphasis on a healthier lifestyle which fuels the trend, saké is moving swiftly into mainstream culture and garnering a new boost in nationwide recognition and consumption.
SakéOne is the only American-owned and operated sakéry in world and has won more tasting competition awards than any other domestic sakéry.
