Athens (PRWEB) July 31, 2005
Foundry Entertainment announced plans to open The Melting Point, an intimate concert venue located on the grounds of the Foundry Park Inn & Spa in Athens, Ga. The Melting Point will open its doors in September 2005.
ÂWe plan to attract the very best national and regional musical acts to The Melting Point, said Kyle Pilgrim, Booking Agent for Foundry Entertainment. ÂWith seats located within feet of the stage, The Melting Point will give all of our visitors an intimate listening experience of their favorite artists.Â
The venue layout will consist of three main seating areas. The floor in front of the stage can be arranged for a theatre style layout or a traditional standing room only design. In addition to those layouts a design to incorporate tables for an evening Âdinner concert have also been developed. The mezzanine level is a raised section above the concert floor with seating in front and tables along the back windows. The balcony level will consist of fixed and raised seating areas as well as a VIP room for private parties. The balcony level will also include a full service bar and additional bathroom facilities.
Connecting the intimacy of the venue with the outdoor patio will be a series of large openings along the back wall of the mezzanine level. This design characteristic will allow the venue to increase its capacity and provide additional seating options for larger shows.
The Melting Point will have an overall capacity inside the venue of 350 and an additional 100 seats will be available on the outside patio area.
ÂThis is a project with a tremendous amount of passion behind it. We toured the country visiting many different music venues and we wanted to create a venue that was exciting to the artist as well as the fan attending that performance. said Nick Walldorff, President of Foundry Entertainment.

The Melting Point venue was designed not only with the artist and music patrons in mind, but it will also include the latest in video, audio and interactive media capabilities. ÂWe're looking into the future of the entertainment industry and we see unlimited possibilities in multimedia entertainment. said Walldorff. With T-1 internet lines, audio and video feeds throughout the Melting Point, as well as the adjoining Foundry Park Inn property, the live shows will have a much larger audience than just those who attend that evening's performance.
In addition, Foundry Entertainment and the Melting Point have partnered with ShoWare to provide on-line ticketing through the Melting Point web site. ÂWe feel the ease and convenience of this on-line ticketing system and the fact that the internet plays such an important role in the music industry is exciting. said Walldorff.
