(PRWEB) July 31, 2005 -- On August 21st, from 5-10pm, local folk, country, and rock and roll musicians celebrate all Hull has to offer at the 4th annual Hullapalooza.
This summer, Nantasket Beachs Sea Note hosts the event featuring the music of The Pemberton All-Stars, Rob & Tim, Brook & Katie, and Catbasket. This annual musical benefit is an opportunity for musicians, artists, and people of all ages to mingle in a beach club setting, celebrate the sounds and sights of Hull, and support the local arts.
If you need to sit one out, or do some crowd watching, you can visit the silent auction featuring works of fine and affordable art from the Hull Artists Studio Connection, along with other tempting items donated by area merchants. All proceeds benefit Hull Artists Studio Connection.
Hullapalooza is an annual musical celebration of the uniqueness of Hull. Participating musicians donate their talent and time to support a different local non-profit organization each year. In previous years, Hullapalooza has raised funds for the Hull Lifesaving Museum and Hull Seaside Animal Rescue.
Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the Sea Note, the Hull Artists Studio Connection, or at the door. For more information, call 1-781-925-1996 or visit www.hullartistsstudioconnection.org. For directions, visit www.theseanote.com.
ABOUT THE MUSICIANS
Catbasket is a loosely structured but tightly knit provider of classic pop-rock nuggets and experienced but completely unjaded conglomerate conjoined by their love of a great tune. Never satisfied with a wedding band" set list, the group forges ahead into the nether reaches of popular music to bring their audience a more adventuresome and satisfying experience.
The bands Hull roots go back to the days of the Seals (1980-83), which included keyboardist Steve West, singer Alicia Zipp, and guitarist Brian Middleton, later of the Rafters and Purple Martin. Drummer Dan Lech and bassist Colleen MacDonald have together provided the rumble and smack for bands such as Nobody Home, Slump, and Buttercup; MacDonald has lately been heard getting her twang on in Freeda Rome. The five core members are frequently joined by indispensable fellow travelers Mary Barton-Lech (vocals) and Sue Metro (steel guitar).
The Pemberton All-Stars
Since 1999, The Pemberton All-Stars have been of Hulls most recognizable and enjoyable party bands covering a wide variety of rock and roll, Rhythm and Blues, and Mo-town favorites. The Pemberton All-Stars perform throughout the year at several of Hulls finest night-spots including Jos Nautical Bar, the Sea Note and the Red Parrot. Group members include: Tim Bowles, Laszlo Beres, Bill Walsh, Scott Plympton, Mike Selig, Tom OConnell and Mike OConnell.
