39th Ahmadiyya Muslim Conference begins in Rushmoor Arena, Aldershot

20,000 delegates from 73 countries attended the opening ceremony of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Conference

(PRWEB) August 1, 2005 -- The three-day international Ahmadiyya Conference commenced on Friday, July 29, 2005, in the 50 Acre grounds of Rushmoor Arena, Aldershot. Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community said that in light of the difficulties the world faces at the moment it is imperative to follow the guidance shown by the Holy Quran to achieve success. You need Salat, guidance and success in faith.

He quoted from the Holy Quran about the closeness to God that can be achieved by Salat (prayer) and the acceptance of prayers that can be achieved. God has informed us, he said, that we may escape from the clutches of Satan and fulfill our obligations to God and obligations to man by following the injunctions given. He also emphasized that the most outstanding prayer is Sura Fatiha, the opening chapter of the Holy Quran, especially the verse Guide us on the right path, the paths of the righteous" meaning the ways of Prophets, the Truthful, the Martyrs, the righteous. These are the paths which are rewards from Allah.

He finished by declaring that, in this day and age, only Ahmadis can be said to be benefiting from and abiding by the true spirit of Salat and prayers, so that regularity in prayers should become a hallmark of an Ahmadi. He ended by offering a congregational silent prayer with everyone for Allahs guidance.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was founded in 1889 in a small town Qadian, in Punjab, India. Its founder, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) claimed to be the Promised Reformer of the age. Ahmadiyyat stands for the brotherhood of mankind and tries to establish peace on earth through love, persuasion and tolerance. It is a spiritual organisation and has no political agenda.
