Keeping Our Troops Cool
Direct Swimming Pool Products, swimmingpools.com, has done it again: a free swimming pool for an Army base in Kosovo is on the way.
(PRWEB) August 20, 2005 -- Direct Swimming Pool Products, swimmingpools.com, has done it again: a free swimming pool for an Army base in Kosovo is on the way. In 2003, Direct Swimming donated a pool to a Marine base in Afghanistan.
The base in Kosovo is an Army National Guard Helicopter unit from Johnstown, Pa. SPC James Selapack inquired as to the possibility of buying a pool. He stated that due to the location of his unit, that they have limited options for recreation. And due to the stress of the service, and the long period away from home, that the soldiers need an opportunity for relaxation.
Jim McCuller replied to SPC Selapack that he would give them a pool instead.
Due to the efforts of Mr. McCuller and Connie Johnson, local manager of Pool Builders Supply, and several manufacturers, including Swim'n Play, Inc., who manufactured the pool, Pentair Pool Products, which made the pump/filter system, and Cantar/Polyair Corp. which made the pool liner, our troops can stay cool and enjoy themselves while serving their country.
Mr. McCuller also stated that he had more pools available for free, but that arranging the transportation was difficult. The shipping costs as much as the price of the pool. It would be nice if the military would deliver the pools themselves, but so far the deliveries had been made by other carriers.
