FlightStats, a flight performance information service offered by Conducive Technology, today released their comprehensive carrier performance report for July 2005.
Unlike government sources which offer limited information on a subset of carriers, airports and routes six weeks after the fact, FlightStats offers coverage of more than 99% of all flight activity for more than twice the carriers, within two days of the close of a month. Data is also available on-demand for any route, carrier, or airport in North America, Europe and much of the rest of the world.
Of the 855,968 US arrivals in July by the 41 most active US carriers, 73% of all arrivals landed on-time (within 15 minutes of schedule), 9% were late (16-30 minutes after schedule), 5% were very late (31-45 minutes after schedule) and 12% were excessively late (more than 45 minutes). The average delay for all US arrivals on domestic carriers was 62 minutes.
For carriers operating more than 15,000 arrivals in the US in July, SkyWest Airlines, the United Express and Delta Connect carrier, leads with 86% on-time arrivals and an average of only 48 minutes delay. Horizon Air delivers an 84% on-time performance with 46 minutes average delay to beat out all other carriers with between 10,000 and 15,000 US arrivals in July. For those carriers with fewer than 10,000 arrivals in the US last month, Hawaiian Airlines sizzles with a 96% on-time performance and 53 minutes average delay.
