They Snooze, You Win

Can music influence children allowing parents to get a better night's sleep? Miss Amy is doing it.

(PRWEB) August 6, 2005 -- We know as hard working parents we are all sleep deprived. And, in a German study cited by CNN.com ("Study confirms sleep essential for creativity") it has been shown that "creativity and problem solving appear to be directly linked to adequate sleep". So, what can we do when our loving children are one of the causes of our lack of sleep?

Miss Amy, being a parent herself, has found a way.

On her Grammy submitted CD, "Underwater", there appears a warning label on the back, which reads, "Warning: The last three songs may cause extreme drowsiness. Do not operate large machinery while listening; spend time cuddling instead". This CD of strategically animated music is enjoyable for parents and children alike, design to "give parents a break".

In an interview with Miss Amy, a strategy of self-preservation was included by design in the making of this CD. "Kids have so much energy, and its hard to keep up. My CD is setup so that children can laugh and play at full throttle through the first half hour or so, then it starts a gentle decline in tempo and orchestration over the second half to end in three lullabies to calm them down", Miss Amy explains. And, as parents have also commented "it puts 'em right to sleep".

On her "Wide Wide World" CD released just this week the same formula was followed. "It works for me and so many of the parents I've talked with", justifies Miss Amy.
