SOX Institute launches training road show in 14 cities across North America; offering array of complimentary services with registration in any Sarbanes-Oxley training workshop.

In keeping with its mission to champion Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge, expertise, professionalism and ethics, the SOX Institute announced the launch of its free SOX training road show coming to cities across North America this fall. Included are complimentary SOX Group memberships, self-study programs, professional certifications, all-day seminars, and CPE, PDU, CEU and PEU continuing education credits, all free with the purchase of any of its SOX training workshops.

“Last month, the Institute of Management Accountants reported that top management accountants and finance professionals pulled ahead of public accountants in both average salary and total compensation in 2004 as a direct result of Sarbanes-Oxley,” said Board Chairperson, Fw. Sanjay Anand, CFE, CSOX, CSOXP. “This is an opportunity for us to reach those who want and need the education right where they are, and at a price that they can afford.”

According to an IT Project Manager from one of the Big-Four who had attended a previous SOX Institute training workshop, "My resume has generated more interest and interviews in the month since I added the SOX training and certification section than it had in the previous 5-6 months [which is] when I seriously started looking for another job.”

The cities to be visited as part of the SOX Institute's weekend road shows include:

  • August (limited space available): Houston and New York
  • September: Edison N.J., Philadelphia and Washington D.C.
  • October: Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco
  • November: Atlanta, Detroit, Miami and Toronto (Canada)

The training is oriented towards those who are in, or at looking to enter, the various disciplines associated with a career in Sarbanes-Oxley, including auditing, accounting, finance, technology, ethics, and law. The experiential nature of the programs and the Harvard Business School case-studies used as teaching aids facilitate learning at all levels and in all the disciplines relevant to Sarbanes-Oxley. Participants can earn as many as 36 hours of CPE, PDU, CEU and PEU continuing education credits.

As part of the road show initiative, the SOX Institute will be establishing local networking groups and chapters, and will be looking for professionals to take on leadership roles in those regions.
