Wallflowers' Rami Jaffee on New Warren Zevon Tribute CD
'Hurry Home Early' features appearance by Jakob Dylan organist.
Clifton, VA (PRWEB) August 8, 2005 -- Wallflowers organist Rami Jaffee, known for roots-rock stylings in the mold of Al Kooper and Benmont Tench, appears on the new Wampus Multimedia (www.wampus.com) release, 'Hurry Home Early: the Songs of Warren Zevon.' Performing on the Phil Cody rendition of Zevon's "Splendid Isolation," Jaffee contributes a crisp part on the Hammond B3.
Executive produced by Mark Doyon, 'Hurry Home Early' is the third artist retrospective from Wampus Multimedia, who released 'If I Were a Richman: a Tribute to the Music of Jonathan Richman' in 2001 and 'After Hours: a Tribute to the Music of Lou Reed' in 2003. The CD also includes a previously unheard Zevon song, "Warm Rain," discovered in Zevon's personal tape collection and interpreted by his son, Jordan Zevon, with singer Simone Stevens.
Contributors besides Jaffee and Cody include: Matt Cartsonis (Zevon, Van Dyke Parks, Peter Himmelman), guitar on "Splendid Isolation"; Chris Butler (Waitresses), bass on "Reconsider Me"; Last Train Home, appearing in August on CBS-TV's Late Late Show; Neil Luckett, now working with Nirvana producer Jack Endino; Gary Eaton (founding member, Continental Drifters), guitar on "Mr. Bad Example"; Robbie Rist (L.A. power-pop producer known in a past life as Cousin Oliver of The Brady Bunch); and Jordan Zevon, who just released a new EP.
