The Best and the Worst of Ireland: Overseas Visitors Nominate the Things They Liked Most and Least
A survey run by DoChara.com, an information website for independent visitors to Ireland, seeks to discover the top ten things that people love and hate about Ireland. The survey will solicit opinions from people who have visited Ireland about the aspects of their visit which most impressed them and which they found least appealing.
(PRWEB) August 9, 2005 -- Visitors to Ireland are regularly surveyed in general terms about their satisfaction or otherwise with their experience during their stay.
This new survey will ask visitors to specify the places, people, accommodations and other aspects of their trip which they best liked as well as those that did not impress them.
The survey results will be collated to create a list of the Top 10 Best Things about Ireland and the Top 10 Worst Things about Ireland, as chosen by visitors to the country. The survey will be repeated in subsequent years, with the lists updated annually.
Overseas visitors will make more than 6.5 million visits to Ireland in 2005, generating than €4000 million of spending and making a significant contribution to the Irish Economy [source: Central Statistics Office Ireland. Ireland has become an expensive destination, with Dublin ranked 13th in the list of the World's most expensive cities. [Source: Mercer Human Resource Consulting, 2005 Cost-of-Living Survey
Spending more on their vacation means that visitors to Ireland are more critical of the product they receive and the standards they meet during their stay. While most still express general satisfaction with the experience, it is not clear what precisely it is they enjoy or like best and what they find fault with.
The survey at DoChara will allow visitors to describe in as much detail as they wish the things they liked best and least, and will also seek to establish whether, or in what way, a visitors experience is relevant in determining whether or not they will return in the future.
