San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 17, 2005
Online ratings community and social network RateItAll, Inc. (http://www.rateitall.com) today announced that traffic to its Web site in 2005 has surpassed 2004Âs year-end totals.
In 2004, there were 6.2M visits to RateItAll.com. Total visits to RateItAll for 2005 surpassed this figure on August 10, 2005.
ÂWeÂre pleased to see traffic growing at such a robust rate, says RateItAll President Lawrence Coburn. ÂAs we donÂt do any advertising, virtually all of this growth has been generated by word of mouth.Â
Coburn also credits the introduction of RateLocal.com (http://www.ratelocal.com)  an interactive local search and yellow page service  as bringing new visitors to the RateItAll community.
ÂThe introduction of RateLocal has created thousands of new topics of interest by which new users can find us, Â said Coburn. ÂGoing forward, we will continue to ramp up RateLocal, as well as add new features that make it easier for our existing members to introduce their personal networks to the RateItAll community.Â
According to a 2004 study by The Pew Internet & American Life Project, more than 33 million Americans, or 26% of those online, have rated a product, place, or person using an online rating service such as the one offered by RateItAll.com. This figure compares favorably to the slightly more than 20% of online Americans who have downloaded a music file.
ÂI think the bottom line is that people like to rate stuff, and they like seeing the ratings and reviews of others, said Coburn. ÂAnd if you like to rate stuff, there is no better place to be than RateItAll.com.Â
