Terri Upton sits in her "exotic" named jewelery repair shop in Arkansas chatting to customers with a welding torch in one hand and jewelery in the other as she transforms tired old jewelery into a pair of dangly earrings.

"Several times, I've had to fall back on a second job because business was slow, especially after Sept 11 when buying jewelery was the furthest thing from peoples mind", says Terri Upton.

"There's been a little bit of confusion about what I do here," Upton says.
